When I volunteered at my local animal shelter for the first time, I fell in love with all the dogs, especially Max. He was and still is my inspiration. This magnificent breed, the American Pit Bull Terrier and American Staffordshire Terrier, has taught me compassion, strength of will and determination.

Every pit bull I have encountered has taught me something about myself, no other dog has done that for me, and because of the profound impact they have had on my life, I want to give back to them on a larger level. And so "Max, The Shelter Dog" was manifested.

There are many ways you can help bring Max's message of Animal Compassion to the world.

You can purchase "Max, the Shelter Dog" and read it to your children or donate it to your local library, elementary school, shelter or rescue.

You can download a preview summary of "Max's Animal Compassion Curriculum" (MACC) and give it to your local teacher and/or educator. I also offer Author Visits in NYC.

If you have a pit bull, or know someone who does, you and they can join the "Kids for Pits Campaign."

All of the above are easy and fun ways you can bring Max's message of Animal Compassion to children and adults around the world. Thank you!
